A Letter from Kyle & Rose
What’s up from the Virgin Islands!! Yup, you read that right. We live on a small-ish island in the Caribbean. We have a zest for life and exploring God’s creation and are stoked to share that with our new kiddo.
We are so excited to be able to walk this journey with you. We have so much love to give, laughs to share and adventures to go on. We are praying for you and your little one and know that Our Father in heaven is watching over us all. Becoming first time parents is not something we take lightly and adoption was always our first choice in expanding our family. We’re proud of the fact that welcoming your child into our family isn’t a second choice option, but a much anticipated answer to prayer and the perfect way to start our family.
Nearly eight years ago we met at church at a young adults ministry meeting where we were both volunteering. Within 8 short months, we were married and running all over the island snorkeling, hiking, boating, and loving life.
We love to joke around, be silly and spend time with friends and family. Volunteering at our church and being involved keeps us grounded and focused on what matters. We plan to bring these things into our family life with a new little child and are excited to see what the future brings.
Rose may be the most positive person I know; she is compassionate, intelligent, and easy-going. She always sees the good in people and the bright side of a situation even when I don’t. Motherhood will suit her well and I’m looking forward to seeing her pass down her love of reading, passion for being creative, and finding the joy in every day.
Rose gets along great with kids because at 5 feet tall, she’s typically just about the same size as them. Rose loves spending time relaxing outside reading or swimming. As a former zookeeper, she can’t wait to take our own child to the zoo. Right now she works on a sailboat part-time taking guests out snorkeling but is so excited to stay at home reading stories to our little one and spending time playing on the sandy beaches close to our house.
Kyle is a never-ending ball of energy. He can start his work day with the Coast Guard driving boats, and finishes the day taking a group of kids from church sailing or camping on a nearby island. Kyle truly loves God’s creation and it’s evident when you see him impart that to others around him.
My favorite thing about Kyle is his unique ability to make people laugh. From a grumpy grocery clerk at the end of a long shift or me when I’m having a long day. He is going to make an unbelievable father and I’m so excited to see him discover this new phase of life.
Even though neither of our families lives close by, we stay in contact frequently. One of the perks of living in paradise is that we get lots of visitors!
Kyle’s family is in Missouri and we go back to visit usually once a year. Visits are filled with lots of cousins, family meals, and running around the farm playing with puppies.
Rose’s family is in Washington and California. She is very close with her brother and visits are filled with silly childhood movies and TONS of inside jokes. Everyone is excited to welcome a new little kiddo into the family and ask about him/her often.
Each day when we wake we tend to pinch ourselves that this is really our home. Our two-bedroom apartment here in the Virgin Islands is in a safe neighborhood; with kids playing outside and swimming in the pool. We spend time at home reading out on the porch and watching boats go by in the harbor. Friends live close by and we enjoy dinners at each other’s homes often.
We promise to love your child as you would: with honesty, no judgment, and arms always open for hugs. Our faith is the center of who we are and live by the teaching that if we truly love others well and trust in the Lord, He will be there for us always, being the best example of a parent we could ever hope for.

|More About Our Family|
Kyle chose to enter the military right after high school. Even being busy with advancing, he got his Associates Degree. He's constantly studying for his next qualification and tutoring his fellow co-workers when they need. Even his recreational time satisfies his thirst for knowledge- reading about nautical adventures and sea going advances.
Rose has been a nerdy student for as long as she can remember. She has her bachelor's degree and reads more books than you might believe. You'll be hard pressed to find her without a book if she's not at home. You never know when there'll be a dull moment.
With education being a priority, we want you to know that your kiddo's education is already paid for. The Coast Guard's GI Bill has money set aside for tuition so if that ends up being our child's desire- for higher education, they are good to go!
Kyle was raised in the church and cannot remember a time when he didn't know Jesus. The relationship he has with his Creator has made him a quiet leader in all facets of his life. While not speaking in front of crowds (because there is nothing worse to Kyle), his calm confident demeanor in knowing exactly who God made him to be draws people to him.
Rose was introduced to Jesus by her mom at a young age but didn't really know Him personally until the summer after 8th grade where she followed a crush to church camp. The crush came and went but her relationship with Jesus has been steadfast through high school, college and into adult life. She frequently volunteers for more behind the scenes things at church from cleaning, baking for events, helping the kids ministry with crafts and more.
Throughout our marriage we have made it a priority to travel. Going to new places and interacting with those in other cultures helps us to grow in ways we never thought possible. We road-tripped for 7 months in our van covering 28 states and many national parks. We've backpacked around Europe, sailed through the inside passage of Alaska and have visited 5 Canadian provinces.
There's no better education than living life in the world and seeing it first hand. We plan to take our kiddo on all of our adventures, from hiking to sailing and everything in between. Both sets of our parents raised us to be grateful for all the little things in life each day and exploring the gorgeous world God gave us is no exception.
|A little note...|
As much as we adventure and love to be on the go, we wanted to add that yes, we are human and love our time resting. We love enjoying our home and are so looking forward to cuddles with our little one and soaking up that time together.
