Hey there! We are Austin & Katie from a small town in Michigan. We enjoy living in a state with the four seasons as we love to be outside! We can’t wait to share all our state has to offer & more with our child! We would love to get to know you & share an open adoption at a comfort level that works well for us all.
About Us
We are high school sweethearts! We have been married for almost 8 years and together for 13. Throughout our relationship, adoption has always been something we’ve felt God leading us to and after several years of infertility, we are so excited to start our family through adoption!

Talk About Katie
According to Austin: Katie is a kind-hearted, loving person who always puts others’ needs above her own. Her fun and bubbly personality lights up the room! She is amazing with our nieces and nephews as well as the children she leads at our church. She loves the Lord & loves leading the next generation.
Katie works at our church, overseeing the Children’s Ministry. In her role she gets to share God’s love and the story of Jesus with kids every weekend through worship, sharing Bible stories & leading them in activities. When she is working, she is fully engaged & completely in her element!
She enjoys the simple things in life including spending time with family, going for walks with our dog (Maggie), & thrift shopping. She enjoys exploring all that Michigan has to offer including camping, visiting different beaches & shopping in small Michigan towns. As much as she enjoys exploring, one of her favorite things is being home with a cup of coffee, wrapped up in a blanket working on a puzzle or craft! I can’t wait to see her as a mom because she’s amazing with children. They bring her so much joy! She’s silly, loves to learn with them & cares so well.
Talk About Austin
According to Katie: Austin is incredibly kind, patient & very intentional. In every circumstance, he is fully there for whoever he is with! Whether he’s at work, visiting with family, helping out at our church or a community event – he is fully invested in all moments & doesn’t get easily distracted. He loves the Lord & works everyday at growing in his relationship with Him even more.
Austin is a full-time firefighter for a neighboring city to where we live! One of his favorite parts of his job is getting to work with others on a squad/team. Together they run calls, attend community events and more simple things like cook meals & workout together.
When he’s home, he loves to be outside or working on a project. He is a hands-on learner & a true handy man! His hobbies include hiking, hunting & cooking on our Blackstone. He is the ‘fun-uncle’ with our nieces & nephews – usually taking them for quad rides, playing with nerf guns & building with Magnatiles! Austin is going to be an incredible Dad! I know he will share so much with our child, including his love for Jesus & the great outdoors.
Our Family
We are blessed to live close to both of our families, which we love! Our families are very supportive & excited about our decision to adopt. We have several nieces & nephews who cannot wait to welcome another cousin to the crew!
With Katie’s family, we love watching football & going for walks. With Austin’s family we enjoy cooking (we love finding new recipes & sharing them with each other) and camping together. We’re very excited for our child to be a part of these memories in the future!
Our Home in Michigan
In 2020, we became first time homeowners of a bi-level home in our small town. Our house has 3 bedrooms & includes a deck overlooking our backyard where we love to sit on summer evenings with friends. We have great neighbors & live in close proximity to several family members!
The nursery is right off our living room & next to our bedroom upstairs. We’ve loved putting it together!
We love hosting game nights & bonfires at home and love when family & friends just ‘pop in’ for a visit.
There are several libraries, parks & trails near us that we like to go to. We especially like to bring our dog, Maggie, over to the Elementary school near our house to walk the track while we throw the frisbee for her.
Our Promise
As parents, we promise to love our child unconditionally. We will give them a home where they will feel seen, safe, laugh a lot, are encouraged & prayed for. We will teach them the value of hard work, help them pursue their dreams & cheer for them every step of the way! Your child will grow up knowing their adoption story & how much they are loved by God.

| Family Traditions | Austin - Every year I look forward to opening day of hunting season with my dad & brother. We get up early, either go out for breakfast or cook lunch in the woods, & then end the night sharing stories together! Katie - We've attended our church for close to twenty years. Every year on Christmas Eve, my grandparents, aunt, uncle & cousins come with us, and we attend service together & then do a big dinner afterwards! It is one of my most favorite nights of the year & we all cannot wait for our baby to be a part of this tradition! | |
| Our Faith | We believe that God sent his Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins. We believe that what is in the Bible is true, and we work hard to instill those truths into our lives every day and it's our desire to speak those truths into our children as well. | Fun Facts | Austin - As a firefighter I have partaken in a few different 5K events with other firefighters, which I've ran in my full turn-out gear! Katie - I have been serving at our church in our Student Ministry for about eight years now, as a small group leader for a group of high school girls. It has been a true joy to watch them grow and lead them in their walk with Christ & they cannot wait to add a sweet child into our 'group'! | |
| Favorite Room in Our House | Austin - I love our living room! It's cozy & we have big windows where I like to sit and watch wildlife during the day. Katie - I love our kitchen! I love to host and love when friends & family come to visit!
