A Letter from Chris & Jennifer
Hello! We have been happily married over 9 years and we’re excited to be in this process of becoming first-time parents through open adoption. Respecting others and creating a home where people feel cared for and included matters to us. We’d love to share this life we’ve built with a child! After 7 years of unexplained infertility, treatments, and multiple miscarriages, adoption was laid on our hearts. We trust God has led us down this path and believe there is a child meant to join our family through adoption. We’d love to learn more about you and the life you want for your child.
About Us
How we met, as told by Jennifer: We met online! I saw Chris’ profile show up as a possible match, only there was no picture. I messaged him to ask for a picture and the rest is history! We’ve been together over 13 years now.
Together we enjoy:
• Going to the beach
• Sports (on TV or going to games!)
• Hosting family parties
• Grilling out or relaxing by the fire pit in our yard
• Riding bikes
• Traveling to new cities to try some of the things that each place is known for
• Golfing (or trying to golf!)
• Swimming at the pool
• Watching our nephews play sports
• Being in our yard, whether it’s watching the birds, growing a vegetable garden, or doing yardwork
About Jennifer
Chris says: Jennifer is fun, nurturing, and puts her heart into everything she does. She puts others first, enjoys the simple things in life, and works toward her goals. She soaks up any chance to make memories with our families. Watching Jennifer with our nieces and nephews, I know she’ll be a great mom!
Jennifer likes:
• Volunteering to help others
• Crafting, sewing, crocheting, cross stitching, and making stained glass projects
• Gardening
• Playing sports on recreational leagues (ultimate Frisbee was so fun and I’m currently learning golf!)
About Chris
Jennifer says: Chris may seem quiet at first, but he always has a lot to say! He is thoughtful of others and their opinions and always a good source of reason in conflict. Chris is calm, sincere, funny, and looks out for people around him, always making sure they know he cares. Seeing him with our nieces and nephews, there is a joy in him that I know will multiply when he’s a father!
Chris likes:
• Grilling
• Watching or attending hockey games
• Building an awesome fire in the fire pit
• Attending car shows with his dad
• Home improvement projects
Our Home in North Carolina
We bought this place as our forever home where we dream of raising our family! We live in a two-story house with 4 bedrooms and a huge yard that sits up on a hill (perfect for snow sledding!). Our home is in a small town near the beach, outside of a large city. The neighbors here gather outside to talk, grill, and watch the kids play. We also enjoy the neighborhood pool, walking trails, and annual activities in our community.
Our backyard is our favorite place to be. We have a screened porch, patio, fire pit, and a flat part of the lawn that’s good for playing catch or cornhole. The property backs up to 100 acres of woods so we love to watch wildlife and put out food for the birds, squirrels, and deer. Inside we enjoy hosting our families around our big dining table. We’ve already started a nursery and will convert a space downstairs into a playroom after we adopt.
Our Families
We have a lot of family nearby, as well as relatives in Colorado, Georgia, and Florida. We see our parents, grandparents, and siblings regularly for birthdays, holidays, game nights, and family dinners. We have 2 nieces and 9 nephews and we love time with them! Our families make it a priority to stay connected, even with loved ones outside of our area. We also have dear friends from Jennifer’s childhood who are as close as family to us. Everyone is excited about our plans to adopt!

• Teach right from wrong and do our best to help our child make good choices and learn from outcomes of those choices.
• Be supportive and there for him or her through all things.
• Raise this child to respect others.
• Put school first and encourage them to learn what they need to know, and to work hard, in order to reach their dreams.
• Talk openly with him or her about our family’s adoption story and raise your child to know how much you mean to us.

| Fun Facts About Us | As told by Chris: We both have backgrounds in emergency medical care. Before Jennifer went back to school, she was an EMT for years, and I have been a firefighter for most of my life. Jennifer shares: I will try almost anything once and appear calm, while inside I’m totally freaking out! I’ve been on crazy roller coasters, parasailing, ATV riding, ropes courses, and zip lining, to name a few. Chris shares: I collect bottle caps to display them on my fire hat and axe cutouts on the wall. As told by Jennifer: My mom owns a local hobby store for nature and wildlife. We both help out there sometimes and it will be such a fun place for our child to grow up exploring when we visit grandma at her store! | |
