A Letter from Dusty & Whitney
Greetings from Texas! We’re so grateful you’re taking the time to learn a bit about us! We’ve been blessed with two children and a home filled with laughter and adventures. We are so excited for the opportunity to share our family vacations and Saturday morning cartoon snuggles. We would love to connect with you and welcome you and your child into our family!
We got to know each other about eleven years ago when Dusty took a job at Whitney’s home church. We’re teammates, best friends, and absolutely love being together! Our mutual love for travel, fitness, and trying new things (especially foods!) has made for an incredibly fun life together. Right after we married, we knew adoption was something we wanted, but the timing never seemed right. Two years ago, though, we felt God giving us both the same message. Adopt now. We’re excited to be on this amazing adoption journey!
Dusty is everything I dreamed of having in a husband when I was growing up. He brings me so much joy! Dusty is very driven and embodies strength, passion, and determination, especially at his job as a worship pastor. He also knows how to be a goof-ball with his family at the end of the day. He’s an amazing Dad! With our children, he’s silly, attentive, and dependable. I have no doubt that another child will fit right into his loving and rambunctious parenting style. Dusty is absolutely “all in.” I know that whatever he does, he gives 100%. I can count on him for anything. I’m so incredibly grateful for how he leads our family!
Whitney is the strongest person I’ve ever met. She has an elegance about her that attracted me right away. Whitney is determined, courageous, and adventurous! Her job as an Audit Coordinator requires her to be a natural and confident leader, which she does with ease. She’s so patient, and leads our kids with grace and kindness. She never shies away from getting dirty or silly with them. Her ability to nurture and care for others is amazing! I know that another little one will be so loved and cherished by her because I’ve seen it happen twice already!
Justus is seven years old and has the biggest heart! He is a natural leader and such a passionate boy! He is hilarious, rough and tumble, and occasionally as strong-willed as he is kind. He is looking forward to being a big brother again and prays every night for our baby and our birth mommy, and asks God to keep them safe so we can be together as a family.
Taryn is four and is a sweet-spirited little firecracker! She loves to cook and sing and adores her big brother! She is so tender, but full of sass. We can always count on her kisses and spunk to keep us smiling through the day.
We live in a 4-bedroom house in a family-friendly neighborhood. A typical night will find us working out in the garage, playing on the swing set in the backyard, and having dinner at the kitchen table. We make time every night for snuggles on the couch with books and a Bible story. Saturday mornings are our favorite! We get Chick-Fil-A and watch cartoons together. We also make time weekly to Facetime our family that lives out of state. We want our family to remain close-knit even if we’re a few hours apart. Luckily, our schedules allow for visits with each other about once a month. It’s important to us to spend lots of quality time together and make it fun to be at home!
Our hope for our children – all of them – is that they have a lifetime of happiness. We promise to do our best to make that a reality. We will try our hardest to create a safe and fun environment for your child to grow. We promise to encourage their own unique talents and personality. We will do our best to help your child pursue their own dreams with passion. We will give your child a network of support, help when they need it, and independence when they are ready. Most of all, we promise to maintain open contact with you if you desire, and to cover your child with so much unconditional love.

More About Our Family
Our Special Interests
Our family loves to go on adventures together! Sometimes that means going to the zoo or trampoline park, and sometimes that means loading up for a weekend or week away! We love to be outside so nice weather always means a chance to go for a hike or just play in the backyard. We also love to travel and try to make it to our favorite destination - mountains - whenever we can! Sometimes we like to just pile up on the couch for a movie night or get everyone in the kitchen to make pizzas or bake cookies. Our family really enjoys just being together. We always have the most fun when everyone is involved!
Both of us were raised in strong Christian homes and we have decided to raise our children in one as well. We feel that our faith is the foundation for both our marriage and our parenting style. We try to teach our kids daily about Christ and point them toward Him. It is important to us to be active and serve in a church home that we love and make it a priority to be there weekly. We both try to get daily quiet time and ask God to give us wisdom and guidance so that we can parent in a way that honors Christ. Our family motto is to live with courage, strength, and honor. We believe that our faith is the tool we use most often to help us live that way.
Our Musical Interest
Our home is filled with music! All of us enjoy classic rock and alternative rock but quite often we are found having Disney singalongs, too. Dusty is the worship pastor at church and Whitney often leads alongside him. Music is such a big part of our life and we wouldn't have it any other way! Justus' favorite thing to listen to right now is Imagine Dragons. He loves to sing along and knows all the words! While Taryn loves the Trolls and Moana soundtracks most, she asks every night for one of us to sing Guns & Roses' "Sweet Child of Mine" to help her go to sleep.
About Our Home
We live in a four bedroom Ranch style home in a family-friendly neighborhood. There is a playset in the back yard that the kids love and a fire pit that we love to use for hot dogs and s'mores when the weather is nice!
It certainly takes a village to raise a child, and we have such a great one! Both of us come from Godly, close-knit families. We're both from Louisiana and both families still live there, but it is only a short car ride to visit. Whitney's parents, especially, have a flexible schedule with lots of time to spend at our house. Her mom, Teresa, whom the kids call "Tessie" (she didn't want to sound too old!) comes to spend the summers with us so that the kids can stay home. We try to vacation with both sides of the family and make sure to spend time in Louisiana so that our children stay close to extended family. We are also involved in an incredible LifeGroup - a small group of people from our church in the same life stage as us. We currently have 5 families all with children about the same ages as ours. We meet weekly and discuss sermons, parenting, and any struggles or victories we have! These people have become our best friends and our support group and we know we can count on them for anything.
We live in the state of...
Texas! There are really only two seasons here "hot" and "less hot." This means lots of sunshine and time outdoors! We also live in an area of Texas where there are lots of things to see and do. We're not far from a zoo, aquarium, children's museum, water park, theme park, professional sports fields and dozens of indoor and outdoor playgrounds for the little ones. We are excited for all of the opportunities our children will have growing up in an area that has so many things to offer!
Our neighborhood is full of young families just like us! It's a short walk to our community playground and soccer field. When the Texas summer starts to heat up we go to our neighborhood pool, and splashpad. There's even a stock pond where the kids like to fish and feed ducks. Our neighbors have three children that are close in age to ours and they love to play together. Our families like to hang out and let the kids ride bikes and play on the backyard playset. We also have neighborhood block parties at the community playground about twice a year. We love living here!
