A Letter from Jon & Erin

We are Jon and Erin and we are excited you are here to learn more about us! We have been blessed with the Lord’s direction of growing our family through adoption. Our daughter and son’s adoption stories are treasures we are extremely thankful for. We are an energetic, adventurous, God-centered, Disney loving family excited to grow once more through the joy of adoption. We are open to sharing updates with you though letters, pictures, and visits and pray you enjoy getting to know more about us!

About Us

Having met through a mutual friend, we came together across 1,500 miles and have been married nine years now. While in her teenage years Erin battled with ovarian cancer twice. She has now been cancer-free for over 12 years; however, this came with the lasting effect of infertility. Even before we met we knew adoption had a special place in our family, given our faith and the fact that Jon’s grandfather was adopted. And in 2016 and 2017 we were blessed to adopt our son and daughter!

Together we enjoy being outdoors, camping, fishing, playing and coloring with the kids. We love adventures like outings to the rodeo or county fair, visiting the ocean and Walt Disney World. We are excited to take our newest little one to dip their toes in the ocean, taste a campfire roasted marshmallow, and meet the big mouse himself (Mickey that is)!

About Jon

Jon grew up in a rural area of the mid-west, spending his days helping on the farm or playing down the street. After graduating from college, he relocated to Idaho and now works as an IT Project Manager. Jon is our rock, always there to lend a hand around the house or take care of “guy” stuff like working on the car or building something (he really enjoys carpentry). Jon is spontaneous, outgoing, and organized; he is patient and always looks to do the right thing. He is excited to share his love for the outdoors with our children from working in the yard/garden to teaching them how to ride their bikes around our neighborhood.

About Erin

Erin has lived in Idaho for most of her life. With a degree in Elementary Education, she pursued her love of working with children. She worked as a kindergarten teacher for 3 years before following her creative passion and turning her sights on working at a craft store. There she was able to share her creativity for papercrafts, floral design work, home decor, and sewing. Erin is now a stay at home mom and enjoys teaching our children everything from letters in the morning to imagination time and crafting in the evenings. Erin is a tender hearted, caring person, and is excited to share the light of the Lord with our children.

Our Kids

We were blessed to adopt our daughter Ada in 2016 and our son, Dalen, in 2017! Ada is a happy, musical, fearless, animal-loving young lady. She loves playing make-believe with her dolly, riding her bike, and riding horses. She loves being a big sister! Dalen has a gentle spirit, always has a hug and kiss ready, and will make you giggle at every turn. His sister is one of his favorite people, loves to read, and play with Buzz Lightyear, tractors and cars. They are excited to welcome their sibling home. We look forward to seeing them all grow together, sharing our faith with them, and helping them each to find their calling!

Our Home in Idaho

We live in a wonderful 3,000 sqft home with five bedrooms and four bathrooms. The nursery is located right next to the master bedroom, fully furnished and decorated in a fun jungle animal theme. The downstairs area is a combined common area between the kitchen, dining room, and living room with a fireplace and large windows. Also, included is a bonus room (toy/craft space), office, and spare bedroom for visiting grandparents! We have a well-established backyard with a patio and garden. Erin keeps the front looking beautiful with sunflowers, petunias, poppies and iris. We built our home about three years ago with our family in mind.

Our Promise

Our promise to you is to deeply love and care for your child so that they will always know their value and self-worth. They will live the meaning of family and will experience a foundation of faith. We will help them strive to reach their full potential, gaining an education and reaching their dreams no matter the valleys or mountains they must cross to arrive there. We are open to keeping in touch through letters, pictures, and visits!

More About Our Family
How We Met

We grew up about 1,500 miles apart and were introduced by a mutual friend who knew Erin in high school and Jon met in college. While our first meeting in 2009 didn’t produce much, a year later upon another encounter sparks flew. We dated long-distance while both finishing up school, with several trips back and forth to meet family and friends. In 2011 Erin went to surprise Jon at his graduation and he surprised her with a proposal. We were married in December of 2011 and settled in Erin's hometown.

Excited to Adopt!

Growing up we individually had dreams of building and growing a family through adoption, given our faith beliefs and Jon’s grandfather being adopted. Turns out this desire in our hearts was placed there to become reality as Erin battled ovarian cancer twice as a teenager. Through natural treatment and chemotherapy, she has now been cancer-free for over 13 years; however, this came with the lasting effect of infertility. God placed adoption on our hearts for a reason and we are so thankful to him for our family!

Our Family

Jon’s family is mostly located in his home state while Erin’s are all in the Pacific Northwest. We spend a lot of time with our family living close, from visiting new places in our community to various church and school activities. We cherish the times we spend together for holidays and time away from work visiting or being visited by Jon’s family. Our entire family loves and adores Ada and Dalen and are thrilled to welcome your child with the same love and care given to all family members.

Our Faith

We believe the Bible is the true, infallible word of God. We believe that we are called to accept a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and are called to follow His lifestyle example. We are active in our church and enjoy living in a lively faith-based community. Our church is built upon four core values to worship God passionately, connect with one another authentically, grow to know God deeply and go, show and tell the Gospel boldly!

Our Neighborhood

Our community is rapidly growing alongside the entire region and offers both the feel of a quaint hometown with all needed conveniences within a short distance. We have most of our needs met at the local grocery/hardware store where we are always sure to go to the same sweet cashier who lights up at the sight of our kids. We love going for family bike rides (especially to Grammy and Grampy's house just 5min away), going to the splash pad with friends, swinging at the park, or into town for a pizza!

Idaho's Great Outdoors

Idaho - more than just potatoes! On the western side of the continental divide of the Rocky Mountains, Idaho is more than 50% public owned land full of national and state forests, monuments, and parks. From the peaks of the Sawtooths that dominate the center of the state to deep forests and pristine lakes, to some of the most beautiful rivers, to the plains in the south and rolling hills in the north, there’s a lot to explore!
