A Letter from Josh & Elizabeth
Hello from New Mexico! Working out, enjoying the outdoors, and making meals from scratch are a few things we prioritize as a couple. As a blended family, we have been married for 4 wonderful years and we’ve longed to raise a child together. We would love to welcome a boy or girl of any racial background, and we’d gladly share a relationship with you, if you’d like. We hope to get to know you!
We met through online dating. Right away we could talk for hours and found we had a lot in common. We’ve been a couple for 5 years and value openness and honesty in our relationships. As a military couple, we’ve enjoyed being able to travel a lot and see the world!
Adoption has been on our hearts for a while, and after our daughter, Skylar, was still born, we’ve realized even more how much we want to grow our family. The loss of our baby made us closer and stronger, and we are hoping to share our love with a child through adoption.
Things we like to do:
• Healthy living, with home cooked meals & daily workouts
• Hiking & rock climbing
• Traveling with friends
• Scuba diving in the Caribbean
I work helping local businesses attract people to shop and visit the city we live in. I’ve been in this field for 10 years and love it! Every day I get to help improve our community and the people here.
What Josh says about Elizabeth: She is driven, kind, loving, and someone I can share anything with and not feel judged. Elizabeth has loved my kids as her own and I know she will appreciate every second with a child we raise together. Through the loss of our daughter, Elizabeth has also grown a heart for helping other moms through pregnancy or infant loss.
• Playing piano
• Crafting diamond paintings
• Hiking or taking the dogs to the park
I am an Air Force Instructor/Evaluator for an aircraft drone, focusing on the camera system. I enjoy teaching the students in our course, especially when they have those “light bulb” moments. After I retire, in a couple years, I plan to continue as a civilian instructor doing the same work.
What Elizabeth says about Josh: He is caring and always there for me. Josh always knows how to lovingly push me to become my best self. I love how Josh is with his children; even apart, he makes an effort to stay involved in their lives, and when they visit he makes the most of the time we get with them.
• Creating woodwork art
• Working with my hands (and that accomplished feeling when I finish a project!)
• Rock climbing (even though I’m a little nervous about heights)
We live in southern New Mexico, in a 4 bedroom home with a welcoming feel. We recently renovated the kitchen and have spent a lot of time landscaping our yard to include a nice patio and outdoor space to enjoy. Our house also has a beautiful, Harry Potter themed nursery ready for the child we adopt.
This area is known for the outdoors and has a beautiful mountain range where we do most of our hiking. In the summer we like to float down the Rio Grande River and spend time at the lakes. When Josh retires from the Air Force in a couple years, we’ll stay here.
Josh’s children, Rhapsody and Cole, are from a previous marriage, and live with their mother in Australia. Rhapsody is 15, very smart, always learning, and loves kids (even babysitting!). Cole is a loving 11 year old, who likes playing with other kids, and games of all kinds. We always look forward to time with them! They visit a few times each year and will be great siblings to the child we adopt. They are excited!
When the kids visit we plan special trips, like Disney World, Universal Studios, Legoland, or SeaWorld. We’ll always make the most of time we have with our children! We even have an adventure book that you scratch off to find a silly activity you have to do right then. So far we’ve had to do a lip-sync battle, create our own popsicle, make luchador masks, and broke eggs over our heads not knowing if they were hardboiled or raw.
Our Loved Ones
We are very close with our families and talk to them daily. Elizabeth’s parents are retired in Ohio and we take turns traveling to see each other often. We also enjoy going to Wisconsin to catch up with family, and see Josh’s parents. Even though we are apart, we do everything we can to keep up with our 16 nieces and nephews too.
Since we live far from family, we also have friends-like-family here in New Mexico, who are a huge support to us as well. We enjoy weekly get-togethers, hiking or rock climbing, and game nights with our local friends.
We promise to raise your child in a loving and stable home. We will support them in any adventures they want to pursue, encourage their dreams, and grow through education and life experience. We promise to pass down our Christian values and model love and respect for others. We appreciate the value of life and will always make the most of the time we get as a family.
We are 100% supportive of open adoption and getting to know you, at your comfort level. We want to raise your child to be proud of their adoption story, and we’ll respect how much you want to be involved after the adoption. Your child will always know how loved they are, by more than just us.
With love, Josh & Elizabeth

|More About Our Family|
Josh: "I love dad jokes, and even though they are cheesy, they always make me laugh! As part of the military, I’ve also been able to live overseas and have loved experiencing the culture in every place I’ve lived or visited."
Elizabeth: "Elizabeth is a bit of a nerd! She loves Star Wars (even the extended universe books) and Harry Potter (she even made the nursery in a Harry Potter theme!). She has also seen Friends so many times that she can recite lines and still laugh at it."
• We love to travel over Christmas and make an experience out of it.
We have 4 dogs and a cat! Our dogs, Emma, Zeus, Luna, and Finn, all have their own loving personalities, which keeps things fun around here. Dusty, our cat, loves doing her own thing. Our pets are a sweet part of our little family!
