A Letter from Nicholas & Hillary

Hello from Kentucky! Thank you for taking the time to get to know us.  We love spending time together doing various things. We are looking to adopt our first child and create unforgettable memories by helping them live life to the fullest. We hope you will choose us to partner with you on this journey.  We are open to letters, sharing photos, and even visits.

Our Story

We met in law school and married in 2017. In 2020, we decided we were ready to start a family but struggled with infertility. After an unsuccessful IVF attempt, we went to God in prayer and, almost instantly, He revealed to us that He wanted us to be adoptive parents.

Together, we enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to sporting events, and traveling—but also love a lazy day at home. We are each other’s best friends, so everyday life for us usually includes dinner together, movies, long walks, and lots of conversation.  We also love to dance together, sing (even though Hillary sings off-key), and play pranks on one another.

We look forward to starting a family and welcoming a child into our loving, Christian home.

My Husband, Nicholas

Nick is intelligent, funny, adventurous, and goofy!  He has the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever met.  He would give his shirt off his back to help a stranger and would do anything to make sure someone has a smile on their face.

Since the day I met Nick, he wanted to be a father.  He dreamed of playing with his children, educating them on Western movies, jamming out to Jimmy Buffett songs, and just having a buddy to share everyday life with. In his spare time, he loves to golf. He also loves to read and write. There are many days when I will come home, and he is already involved in a book or writing his next article/book/essay.

Nick is also family oriented. He always puts the needs of his family above the needs of himself.  He jumps in at a moment’s notice to babysit, coach a team, or be at a child’s activity.  Whatever his family needs, he provides.  Whether that is a shoulder to cry on, help with homework, or a joke to cheer someone up–Nick is there.

I have no doubt Nick will be the best father to any child.  He will be your child’s number one fan, supporting them in anything they do and guiding them in a Christ-centered way.

My Wife, Hillary

Hillary is selfless, strong, fun-loving, and compassionate. You will seldom see her without a smile on her face because she lives life to the fullest, believing each day is a blessing from God. I admire Hillary’s optimistic personality and persevering spirit. In our seven years together, we have faced our fair share of storms, but in those times, Hillary’s strength of faith was unshaken, and her optimism could not be overcome. Quite simply, she was—and is—the anchor to our ship.

In Hillary’s spare time, she loves to be active.  She does not like to sit in front of a television screen, although she does love movie nights.  Instead, she loves puzzles, crafting, reading, being with animals, enjoying nature, and coaching her old high school’s track and field team. She also has a huge, sweet tooth!  If you want a good “dad-joke”, Hillary will be able to provide a corny one at the drop of a hat. She will make sure our child knows there is more to life than what is on a screen.  She will share her sweet tooth, love for animals, and heart for service.

One of the things I love most about Hillary is how she loves—with devotion, passion, and selflessness. She will take all that love, all her heart, and give it to our baby.  Hillary is special. She makes every day great.

Our Home

We live in a three-bedroom, ranch style house, with a large back yard and a bedroom ready to become a nursery.

One of the things we love most about our home is our neighborhood. It is very family-oriented with a park just outside our subdivision.  We also live in one of the best school districts in Kentucky. We cannot wait to raise a child here—where it is safe, loving, and full of life!

We also live centrally located to everything a child would need.  We are minutes from hospitals, schools, malls, food, and entertainment.

Our Family

In our home, it is just us and our dog, Piper.  Piper is twelve years old, friendly, and a snuggler.

Outside of our home, we have a large extended family. Each side of our family lives close to us, so we have an amazing support system.  We also have a lot of game-nights with our family that encompasses the adults, as well as the children.  And, every summer, our family plans a big vacation, and we end up having 30-40 people show up!  It is one of our favorite traditions.

Our Promise

We promise to always love and cherish your child.  Your child will be raised in a Christ-centered environment with a family that will devote their lives to their well-being.  We look forward to sharing life with them and watching them find passions of their own and grow up to be well-rounded adults.  We promise to always have laughter in our home and that your child will never go without.  You will never have to worry about a missed school event, practice, recital…anything.  We will always be there.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

Fun Facts

Fun Facts about Nicholas:
1. He is a gifted golfer and all-around athlete.  In 2017, he won an amateur golfing tournament. He also played college baseball. To keep his passion for baseball alive, he participates in a vintage baseball league that plays with the original baseball rules--that's right, no gloves!!
2. He LOVES milk and Oreos.  In fact, he has eaten a 6-pack of Oreos, every day since kindergarten! It's his guilty pleasure.
3. He loves dancing and singing with friends and family.  He loves doing lip-sync battles--including the dance moves! And, his go-to karaoke song is Drops of Jupiter by Train.

Fun Facts about Hillary:
1. She was a state champion in high jump and went on to play college track and field at a Division 1 university.
2. She will never turn down a chocolate malt (or milkshake).
3. She loves animals.  In fact, it is a running joke in the family that she is an "animal whisperer".  All of her nieces and nephews always want to go to the zoo with her so she can "talk" to the animals (make the animal sounds) in hopes the animals come closer to the cages.

Our Faith

We are Christians and actively involved with our church. Nick teaches a men's Bible study every week and Hillary volunteers in the church's children ministry. We believe in God's plans for our lives and strive every day to get a little bit closer to Him.

Our Musical Interests

We both have a wide variety of musical loves.

Nick's musical palette is large. He loves Jimmy Buffet, Aerosmith, Willy Nelson, Avett Brothers, and the more modern choices of Train, Justin Timberlake, and Ed Sherran.

Hillary, likewise, has a wide variety of loves, but her favorites--like a typical 90's girl--are boybands. She is Team Backstreet Boys! She also loves Train, Ed Sherran, and country music.

Our Differences

Although we share many similarities, we have a lot of differences, which we believe is beneficial not only in relationships, but also in raising a child.

Nick is much more daring. He loves sports, adventure, traveling, and is VERY extroverted.

Hillary on the other hand is more reserved. She loves crafting, puzzles, reading, and is an introvert.

It is these difference that make us great. We complement each other's strengths and weaknesses. What one cannot do, the other can do. It is with that knowledge that we know your child would be well taken care of and have a good balance from each of us.
