We are a family who enjoys spending time together. Our family loves to watch movies, play games, and travel together. We love to host family over for holiday dinners. Adding a child to our family is our dream, and we’re excited about starting the adoption process. Let’s get to know each other & talk about open adoption!
About Us
We met online while freshmen at different colleges. We instantly clicked and became best friends. We have been married for 12 years. In addition to our shared sense of humor, we love traveling and exploring cultures. We have always known we wanted to have children, but it has taken a long journey before we realized adoption was the best route.
We enjoy playing games, watching movies in the theater, trying different restaurants, and traveling together. We also enjoy spending time with friends and family and hosting events at home. Our love and life for our child will help them grow into a kind, compassionate, and loving person. It will be wonderful to teach them about the world, show them all that life has to offer, and watch them grow into a loving and caring individual.
Meet Reno
Shannon says: Reno has a great sense of humor and is always willing to help others. As well as being intelligent and hardworking, he works as a Building Technician for multiple schools. As part of his job, he enjoys troubleshooting computers and fixing them for his staff and students throughout the school day. Creating fun and rewarding experiences with his child is what Reno is looking forward to. He looks forward to participating in various sports with his child and sharing his love of Batman and movies. Reno will be an excellent father as he has great role models in his life who will also be involved with our future child/children.
Meet Shannon
Reno says: Shannon is a forever learner, which explains why she’s a teacher. Shannon is a 5th-grade teacher. She is also the assistant principal at her school as well. Shannon is one of the favorites at her school, whether it’s giving advice to the other admins or being the students’ favorite teacher. In her downtime, Shannon is an avid reader. She has read hundreds of books; very rarely is Shannon not reading. Shannon will be an amazing mother who will love to make learning fun for our future child.
Our Family
Another member of our family is our brother, Kareem. We have raised him since he was 8 years old, and he is now a college student, still happily living in our home. He is so excited for a niece or nephew and cannot wait to meet him/her.
It is important for us to stay in touch and see each other as much as possible in our extended family because we are very close and support each other. We stay in touch by phone and social media and try to visit each other as often as possible. As their support of our adoption plans has been very evident, we have received great assistance and support from them. Our adoption has been supported and aided by them throughout the entire process.
Our family has many traditions to share with our child. During the holidays, we enjoy sharing delicious foods and creating long-lasting memories. We look forward to passing on the traditions we have grown up with to our child and creating new ones. Our extended family will love and support our child, and we can’t wait to begin creating new traditions together with our child.
Our Home in Delaware
We live in a 3-bedroom home in a suburb of Delaware. Our home is within walking distance of multiple parks, and our subdivision is a great place to take walks and enjoy the outside. We are so grateful for our home and our neighborhood. We know it will be a wonderful place for our child/children to grow up.
A Few Things about where we live:

- Very friendly neighbors
- Great schools in the area
- Not far from major cities
- Riverfront and Museums nearby
Also, we cannot forget about our dog Lonnie. He is a 7-year-old black lab mix. He loves cuddles and playing outside. He is very friendly and loves everyone.
