Our staff at Lifetime Christian Adoption just received this beautiful adoption note from Corey and Joann:
“We thought his name was fitting for the occasion, Emmanuel, ‘God with us’. He fills our hearts with so much love. We have family and friends who love him and can’t wait to meet him at his upcoming welcoming baby shower. His birth parents are a loving, selfless, and caring couple who also love him so much, and we are forever grateful to them. We plan on keeping in touch with them and their lovely little family from here on out.
We cannot believe how quickly this all began. We were full-on with Lifetime in late January, matched by early April, and had baby in our arms by mid-June! Emmanuel decided to come ten days early, so when we got the call that birth mom was in labor, we took the first flight out. Luckily, we were prepared and already had our luggage packed. We were elated to find out that he was a big, healthy, baby boy! When we arrived at the hospital it was a joy to meet him and his birth family. There was some unexpected interference from the hospital, but our attorneys quickly took care of that; because of the drama there was worry that birth mom may change her mind, but God quickly took care of that! We know that God’s will has been done! We are thankful to Lifetime’s staff who were with us in spirit, prayed for us, and supported us every step of the way. The attorneys were able to arrange it so that all court proceedings were done while we were there so we wouldn’t have to return in six months for finalization. We quickly got ICPC clearance, in seven days after arriving, so we were in the state for a total of nine days, but very ready to get home. Now, Emmanuel is almost 4 weeks old, and we can’t wait to see what God has in-store for him.
