Lavender fields with Psalm 118:6During the journey towards the baby God meant for you, it’s important to remember that He is still in control. It’s not over until God says so. Life’s issues aren’t a reason to bail out. They are merely a reason to sit tight.

As Corrie ten Boom said, “When a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark, you don’t throw away the ticket and jump off. You sit still and trust the engineer.”

So, the next time you’re feeling frustrated or discouraged, don’t panic. Don’t jump out. Don’t give up on adoption. Remain patient and let God remind you He’s still in control.

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
— John 16:33

I called on the Lord in distress; the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place.
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

— Psalm 118:5-6

Does anything have you up at night worrying? Maybe you’re worried that a birth mother will never pick you. Or that adoption has your finances stretched thin. Remember, God has it under control. He provides and guides. He cares about you. He loves and forgives.

Don’t be discouraged! Instead, be encouraged to live without fear and remember that God is faithful to His promises!

While fear destroys our confidence, faith in God’s love for us always restores hope.
