I recently connected with Matt and Wioleta, an active, adventurous Catholic couple in Oklahoma who are eager to start their family through adoption. If you’re considering adoption for your baby, you have the chance to meet and talk with people who want to adopt. This is an important part of the adoption process that gives you control over your decision.
Before you make any final choices, you can have conversations with hopeful adoptive parents. You can ask them all kinds of questions about their lives, their values, and how they plan to raise a child. Think of it like getting to know someone new: you can learn about their family, their home, what they do for fun, and what matters most to them.
I asked Matt and Wioleta some fun questions that you won’t find in their adoption profile, and I learned that they’re a warm, faith-centered couple who prioritize faith, travel, tradition, and deep connection with the people they love. After going through years of infertility, they felt called to adoption and describe it as part of God’s plan for their family. They are excited to share their love of travel, education, faith, and family traditions with a child, and have already set up their lives intentionally for parenthood — with Wioleta planning to be a stay-at-home mom and Matt maintaining a flexible work schedule to maximize family time.

1. What’s your favorite holiday?
Wioleta: Easter is my favorite holiday. I love celebrating the resurrection of the Lord. I also love springtime when nature comes back to life.
Matt: My favorite holiday is Christmas. It is a magical time of year when the busy pace of life slows, and the focus turns to Christ’s birth. Time is spent with family and friends, traditions are passed on, and memories are made.
For our family, it is truly special because we are able to blend American and Polish Christmas traditions together. Some years we also get to experience Christmas in Poland with beautiful Christmas markets. In the U.S., we decorate our home and tree while enjoying time relaxing with Christmas movies and music.
2. What did you want to be when you were a kid?
Wioleta: I wanted to become a pediatrician, so I could cure all sick children. I enjoyed practicing medicine on my toys when I was a little girl.
Matt: When I was a very young kid, I wanted to be a baseball player and firefighter. I grew up playing baseball, whether it was playing catch with my Dad or playing with my friends. I thought I wanted to be like the pros and play full-time.
Realizing this was rare for most, I also loved the thought of being a firefighter and helping rescue people. I have a natural tendency to want to help people in need, and I always saw firefighters as those heroes who helped others. I wanted to be just like them.
You can get an even better glimpse into
Matt and Wioleta’s lives in their video:
3. If you were a superhero, what powers would you want to have?
Wioleta: If I were a superhero, I would like to have the power of teleportation to visit my family and any place in the world whenever I want.
Matt: If I were a superhero, I would want some powers that teleport me and others to anywhere in the world in a matter of seconds. With an extended family in Oklahoma and Poland, it would be a great superpower to be able to go for a meal with my family in Oklahoma and the same day with Wioleta’s family in Poland.

4. What is your favorite sport to watch or play?
Wioleta: I enjoy watching soccer. Soccer is a very popular sport in Europe. Every game attracts large crowds and is a great event. My favorite player is Robert Lewandowski, representing Poland.
Matt: This is hard to answer because I love many sports, both watching and playing. Playing is definitely baseball. I was lucky enough to keep playing for many years after high school in Canada, Poland, Alaska, and Texas before deciding it was time to “retire”. I made lifelong memories playing all over the world and making lifelong friendships with teammates.
When it comes to watching, I would say all sports! For football, I enjoy the players on my fantasy football team; for basketball, it’s definitely the NBA champion, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and for baseball, the Houston Astros. Wioleta and I also enjoy watching soccer, in which we cheer for the Polish national team and star Robert Lewandowski.
5. What is the most daring thing you’ve ever done?
Wioleta: I once tried bungee jumping. It was an interesting experience; however, I would never do it again. I was way too afraid when I fell down and bounced up and down.
Matt: The most daring thing I have ever done was being a substitute teacher. In college, I had free time in my studies before graduating and needed some extra money, so I decided to take a job as a substitute teacher. My first assignment was in the 3rd grade. It was one of the most challenging workdays of my life, but I quickly learned to value our educators and the hard work they do teaching children.
